John 5:1-15
1. There are certain issues in our life that still remain unresolved or without hope. What issue(s) exist in your life that you have you counted as hopeless? Why do you feel this issue(s) can’t be fixed? Explain.
2. Can you recall a time where a situation went from broken to fixed almost immediately? What impact did that have in your life? Were you expecting your situation to be fixed that day? What did that moment teach you about God and your situations?
3. On Sunday, through the healing of the invalid man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-15), we learned that Jesus cares, Jesus can, and Jesus is in charge of all things. Which one of these do you need to be reminded of in your life? What are some ways the Lord has shown you that He cares, He can, and He is in charge?
4. In the story of the invalid man, we are reminded that while Jesus usually healed in response to faith, he was not limited by a person’s lack of it. Can you recall some moments where you had no faith, yet Jesus still responded to a need in your life? What does this show you about the nature of Jesus?
5. We might just be a moment away from seeing our misery turn into victory. What does that mean to you, your faith, and your perseverance? What are some ways your group can help you keep the faith in dealing with your unresolved situations?
